The new Moutaftsis Bakery reintroduces its long-standing history through a clear, contemporary architectural narrative, where materiality, light, and movement are interwoven into a unified experience.

Driven by the need for a fresh rebranding, the design focuses on creating a strong identity, where the geometric leaf motif becomes the central element. This motif, sometimes perforated and sometimes embossed, runs through the metal façades, interior claddings, and graphic elements, generating a lively play of light and texture.

Inside, the space is organized around a central display fridge-table, inspired by the spirit of traditional hospitality. White, black, and grey create a calm yet contrasting background, while natural wood and metallic textures add warmth and depth. The bright blue metal shelves subtly interrupt the neutrality of the space, introducing a gesture of vibrancy and freshness. The flooring, composed of hexagonal cement-look tiles, gradually shifts from darker tones at the perimeter to a luminous “carpet” surrounding the central element.

On the façade, two white floating counters showcase the bakery’s delicacies, while the perforated metal surface adorned with the geometric leaf motif brings the light and movement of the public space into the interior.

The new Moutaftsis Bakery reinterprets industrial aesthetics with a sense of human warmth and understated everyday elegance.
