Oak Skin Apartment is developed around the concept of a “wooden skin” that envelops the structural elements of the space and transforms organically into integrated furniture. The design approach focuses on creating a continuous, flowing environment where natural oak interacts with white and off-white surfaces, enhancing brightness and a sense of lightness. Sculptural curves and soft lines introduce a contemporary interpretation of art deco aesthetics, aligning with the residents’ desires.
The spatial arrangement is organized linearly around the centrally placed staircase: the first floor houses the bedrooms and bathrooms, while the second floor accommodates the kitchen, dining, and living areas within an open-plan layout. The staircase and the wc volume act as subtle filters between functions, maintaining spatial fluidity and visual continuity.
The palette of materials and colors reinforces the architectural concept: natural oak dominates, complemented by soft mint tones, whites, and off-whites, with vivid accents appearing in the bathrooms and children’s rooms.
